Thank you for visiting the Governors’ page of our website. I am Mark Butcher, current Chair of Cuddington Primary’s Governing body.
My association with the school goes back nearly 10 years, from when my daughter first attended. I’ve been on the Governing body for the last 8 years, originally as a parent governor and, more recently, as a community governor, since both of my children have left the school.
In my role as Chair, I work closely with the Headteacher and the other governors to ensure that the expectations of the children and parents are met and, where possible, exceeded.
Collectively, the current governing body has many years of governor experience. The commitment of the governors, both in terms of time and energy, is key to ensuring the school is constantly moving forward for the good of the pupils.
What do the Governors do?
Our main objective is to ensure that Cuddington Primary School provides the children with the highest possible standard of education, delivered in a safe and happy environment. Additionally, we act as a ‘critical friend’ to the school, providing assistance and input from a non-educational viewpoint.
We do not ‘run’ the school on a day to day basis, as this is the Head teacher’s responsibility, and, as unpaid volunteers, we are not part of the school’s staff. However, we are part of the school’s management team, which is led by the Head teacher.
