Cuddington Primary School is my second school as a Headteacher - my first Headship was at Frodsham Weaver Vale. I was the Deputy Head Teacher at Sandiway Primary for 7 years before this. We are in an exciting time of change as due to increasing numbers of children attending our school, we are in the process of building an additional 4 classrooms. I have just become an Associate Governor at Hartford High School with the responsibility for Pupil Premium achievement.

Mr. Steven Caldwell
I am a class teacher with 11 years experience having gained my PGCE at Chester University in 2006. In my time at Cuddington, I have taught Years 1, 3, 4, and 5, despite my PCGE specialism being an early years specialism. I am Key Stage 2 leader and lead Mathematics throughout the school. I am member of the senior leadership team and currently teach Barn Owls class.
Other interests: I am an avid endurance runner, competing for Vale Royal AC and have represented Cheshire at senior mens level. I am currently studying a Masters degree in Educational Leadership at Chester University.
Mrs. Sam Gibson
I have worked in primary education for the past 20 years and currently work at a local primary school where I have responsibility for SEND and Safeguarding which supports my role at Cuddington.
I live in Sandiway with my husband ,who grew up in the village, and our two children both of whom have attended Cuddington.
Mrs. Diane Cartwright
I have been a parent governor at Cuddington for three years. I have two boys, Charlie in Toucans and Harrison who is in year eight at Weaverham. I have supported the school over the years in a number of ways, reading, trips out, special events, PTA events and helping in class. I studied for a Foundation degree “Supporting teaching and learning”, during this time I conducted my school experience at Cuddington. I have since worked in primary schools.
Mrs. Martine Gum
I have been a primary school teacher since 2002. In 2010 having had my son, I joined St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Winsford as Assistant Headteacher. More recently I have been promoted to Deputy Headteacher and have worked tirelessly, in partnership with the Headteacher, at raising the attainment and standards across the school. Over the past 6 years I have had responsibility for English, Science, PE, SEND, Pupil Premium, EYFS, KS1 to name but a few! As a result of my hard work and that of the incredible team around me, the school has been recognised by the local authority as providing outstanding ELSA provision for the most vulnerable children and an extremely high standard of inclusive yet individualised provision for those children with SEND.
I would like to contribute to the life of Cuddington Primary School and the wider community, developing and enhancing not only the education of my child but that of his friends and peers. Helping, challenging and supporting Cuddington Primary School and Mrs Mills on the journey to ‘Outstanding’.
Mrs. Rose Marsden
Responsibilities: Early Years Link Governor
I was appointed as a Co-opted governor in March 2015. My current term of office expires in March 2019. I have had a long association with the school working as a teacher, being a member of the senior management team and supporting community events for 28 years. I retired from the teaching profession in July 2015 and therefore, have more time to dedicate to my role as a governor to make a positive impact upon the children’s education, welfare and safety. As well as taking an active role in our monthly full governor meetings I am the school’s link governor for early years.
Mrs. Pat Hughes
I have been a LEA appointed Governor at Cuddington Primary School since 1996, a role I relinquished two years ago and now serve as a co-opted Governor. During my time at Cuddington I have served as Chairman (for one year, taking over to cover a sabbatical year) and then many years as Vice Chair. I also chaired the Curriculum Committee for many years.
My main area of responsibility continues to be as Literacy Link Governor and Finance. Currently I am working on the Building Sub Committee helping to oversee the new buildings project.
I have lived in the village since 1972, have two married children, four adult grandchildren and one grandchild that has just started Reception in her home village. As always, my aim is to help Cuddington Primary School to be the best it can be.
As a historical point of interest, there have been 11 Secretaries of State for Education during my time as a Governor!
Mrs. Karolyn Jackson
I am happy to have been associated with the school for over 20 years and currently serve as the Vice Chair of Governors.
I was an active member of the school PTA for many years before joining the governing body in the late 1990’s where I have served on and chaired various sub-committees over the years.
I worked the major part of my career for a major Pharmaceutical Company and have recently moved to work for an International Clinical Research Organisation.
I live in the village and my interests are country walks, swimming and field hockey – watching now rather than playing.
Mrs. Nicola McKendrick
I work full-time and I have twins who attend Cuddington. Along with my Community interest in being a Mum to children who attend the school, I bring my business experience with my specialties being Marketing, Communication and Project Management. Being a Governor is invaluable to the Leadership team in supporting and being a critical friend to them in order to ensure the best outcomes for the children.
