Macaws Year 5/6 2022 - 2023
Curriculum Learning - Summer 2 2022
A warm welcome to Macaws! I hope you have had a lovely break and are ready for the last enriching term ahead in Year 5/6.
This term, P.E. lessons will take place on Monday and Thursday afternoons. Please ensure that your child brings in the correct P.E. kit and trainers every Monday morning. Please make sure that all P.E. clothing is labelled clearly, so lost items can be returned to their rightful owner. Also, provide a water bottle and waterproof coat for your child daily.
Mrs Austin will teach the class on Monday afternoon for P.E. and Computing
Daily reading at home is essential, and we advise that children in upper Key Stage 2 read for 15-20 minutes to encourage a love for reading, develop new vocabulary and strengthen their writing skills. Whilst listening to your child, ask them questions about events that have happened so far, characters' thoughts and motives and to make accurate predictions based on the text.
Reading, Spelling and Maths homework will be set each Friday and is due the following Wednesday. During the summer term, the children will receive paper homework in preparation for next year. This will still be assigned on the online learning platform TEAMS but should be completed in their homework book. Thank you for supporting your child with completing their homework on time.
To keep up to date with what is happening in our class, make sure you regularly check our school's Twitter feed.
