Puffins - Year 5 2019 - 2020
Spring Term Curriculum Learning - The Tudors
Welcome back, I hope that you have had a lovely Christmas break and are ready for an exciting spring term ahead! We start our term with one of Shakespeare's most famous plays 'Macbeth.' As we explore the book, there will be lots of writing opportunties, including poetry, narrative writing, letter writing and persuasive writing.
In history we will be learning about The Tudors and in particular Henry VIII, as we investigate the question:'What impact did Henry VIII's leadership have on Tudor times?' Our learning on this topic will lead to some high quality outcomes for our Curriculum books. Our Art and DT lessons will also link to this theme as we create papier-mâché masks linked to shakespearean theatre.
Spelling and Maths homework will be set on Friday and due in the following Wednesday. There will be one electronic piece of work and one paper piece of work set each week for the children who are in year 6 and 2 pieces of electronic homework for the children in year 5. Please ensure that homework is completed on time.
To keep up to date with what is happening in our class, make sure you regularly check our school's Twitter and Facebook feeds as well as our class blog.
Should you have any queries, please feel free to contact me using the email address at the top of the page or speak to me in person at the end of the school day.
