Snowy Owls - Year 3/4 2019 - 2020
Autumn Term 2019 - Stone Age to the Iron Age
Welcome back! I hope you have all had an enjoyable summer break and are ready for a fantastic year in Snowy Owls. Autumn Term brings us lots of interesting learning and exciting experiences, that I am sure you will all enjoy.
In English, our focus text is the fantastic book ‘The Iron Man’ written by Ted Hughes. This story will provide lots of exciting writing opportunities, as well as linking to our History topic, where we will explore the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age. Our learning about these periods of time will help us answer our Historical enquiry question ‘How did Britain change from the Stone Age to the Iron Age’. I am extremely excited to see the outcomes of learning that have been planned around this topic, such as designing and drawing cave paintings and creating our very own clay beakers.
An electronic spelling and maths homework will be set on a Friday and due in the following Wednesday. All homework is to be completed on time and electronic logins will be given out during the first week back.
I look forward to seeing you at the 'meet the teacher' evening on Wednesday 4th September at 3:30pm-4:00pm, where I will be going through information such as homework, PE kit expectations, school routines and the curriculum.
