Tawny Owls - Year 4 2018-2019

Mrs Cobb

Summer term

Welcome back to a brand new term! I hope you all had a restful Spring break and you are ready and raring to go for this new term! Summer will be full of exciting and important learning opportunities and experiences which I am looking forward to sharing with Tawny Owls.

This term our main overview topic will be Gorillas and the country of Rwanda. We will be looking at the Physical features of the country and the threats and dangers to the wildlife..  To start us off in English this term, we will be looking at Anthony Browne's 'Gorilla' and will be focussing on narrative writing . For our non-fiction, we will be looking at 'Ivan' the gorilla and his story. We will be reading lots of different texts this term to inspire us to write in a variety of genres whilst using many different techniques.

In Maths this term, we will be focussing on fractions and decimals - but please make sure you are still working on those timetables!

Make sure you keep an eye out on the school Twitter feed for updates on Tawny Owls' learning.

I am looking forward to a positive and productive term!
