Tawny Owls - Year 4 2019 - 2020
Welcome to another term of Year 4! I cannot wait to start the new term as it is full of so many exciting learning opportunities!
This term, in our English lessons, we will be focussing on the text ' The Whale'. This is a beautiful wordless picture book that will inspire us to create some beautiful pieces of writing. We will be using this to write settting descriptions and newspaper reports.
In History we will be answering our question ‘How have the Romans impacted modern Britain?’. This leads perfectly on from our Iron Age topic from Autumn term so that we will see how Britain continued to change.
Homework will be set on a Friday and is to be completed by the following Wednesday. All homework will be electronic and expected to be completed on time.
During this term, there will be a continued focus on times tables due to the times table assessment that will be taking place in Summer term. Please continue to support your child with their timestables through encouraging TT Rockstars at home.
Remember to check Twitter to see the amazing things Tawny Owls get up to!
If you have any queries over the school year, please don’t hesitate to contact me on the email address above or catch me at the end of the school day on the door.
I hope you are as excited as I am for another great half term!
