All in a Term's Work - Barn Owls share their sporty side
Date: 3rd Jan 2021 @ 12:21pm
Barn Owls term began with cricket skills whilst holding on to the good weather. There was plenty of focus on over arm throws and the basic skills of fielding and catching as well as the correct way to hold the bat and stand at the wicket. We then moved on to a hockey unit starting with larger sticks and progressing on to wooden sticks as we gained control and the ability to dribble around obstacles, pass and receive.
After half term we went on to football skills and became very confident with our dribbling skills whilst also developing our ability to intercept the ball during a pass. The final unit of the term was pop lacrosse and the children really enjoyed developing their skills in passing and receiving the ball whilst getting used to travelling and holding the less familiar piece of equipment.
