Meet the Governors
Rose Marsden (Chair of the Local Academy Board)
I was first appointed as a Co-opted governor in March 2015, but as of October 2019 I am proud to have been elected Chair of Cuddington Primary school’s Local Academy Board. I have had a long association with Cuddington: working as a teacher, being a member of the senior leadership team and supporting/attending community events for 28 years. Since I retired from the teaching profession in July 2015 I have had more time as a governor to dedicate to making a positive impact upon the children’s education, welfare and safety. I am the school’s link champion governor for Early years and Eco. Cuddington Primary is one of three local schools that have recently formed a multi academy trust, Create Learning. The trust commenced on October 1st 2019 and I look forward to supporting the school in the next part of its exciting journey.
Pat Hughes (Vice Chair of the Local Academy Board)
I have been a Governor of Cuddington Primary School for well over 20 years and have considerable working knowledge of all aspects of school governance.
With our conversion to Academy status, I am looking forward to continuing serving Cuddington Primary School in the capacity of Vice Chair of what will now be called the Local Board. In addition to this role I have also agreed to take on the Link Governor role for “Pupil voice, mental health and pupil wellbeing”.
In this capacity I will be working alongside our Deputy Head to further develop this role.
I have spent 15 years forging a career in pastoral and safeguarding work in secondary schools in areas including Manchester and the Peak District. I am passionate to ensure that every local school offers inclusivity and opportunity to all its students regardless of their home situation and background, and believe this is only achieved through strong leadership, high standards, and creative curriculum choices.
