Puffins are cryptographers!

Date: 15th Jun 2019 @ 11:31am

In computing, Puffins learnt about crytopgraphy and how to crack different types of codes. Initially, the children learnt how to send and receive messages in semaphore code, using their own semaphore flags:

Following this, the children learnt about famous coders from history and talked about Alan Turing and the Enigma machine during WW2. This then led to the children learning how to send and receive messages using morse code.

Finally, Puffins learnt about Caesar cypher script, which was a script used by Julius Caesar so that he could send his correspondance secretly. It is a substitution code that corresponds the letters of the alphabet with other letters that have been fixed against these.
