Toucans - Year 6 2018-2019
Summer Term 1
Welcome back! I hope you all enjoyed your Easter break and are ready for your last term at Cuddington Primary School! We have lots of revision to do this half term, as we prepare for the SATs tests, which take place in May. As well as this, in English, we'll be finding out about Ernest Shackleton's landmark expedition across the Antarctic as we explore the text 'Shackleton's Journey' by William Grill. We'll be using the text to write endurance narratives and a magazine article about the expedition.
In our history and geography lessons, we'll be finding out about the continent of central America and the Maya civilisation. We'll be discovering where and when the Maya built their civilisation, their culture and how they lived. Our Art and DT lessons will also link to our work on the Maya.
Homework will be set from the SATs question books, and we will be going through the answers and any issues in class so I do ask that the work is completed and handed in on time.
Keep checking Twitter to keep up to date with what we are covering in class.
Here's to another exciting half term!
